Kara

Hi! I am Kara Shaffer, and I have been working at Rituals in some capacity since its inception. I received my degree in Communications from Longwood University, and during breaks from school I would join the team by sweeping up hair, cleaning dishes, washing laundry, etc. Now, I help support, lead, and grow our family here at Rituals.

Throughout my career here, I have worn many hats, and had the opportunity to pursue my passions. A notable example is being the philanthropy coordinator Rituals’ point person for Nonprofit Volunteering, which has guided me to working closely with two local philanthropic organizations: Alzheimer’s Association and Child Help. My newest hat is the manager of operations. I am truly blessed by the opportunities and friendships that Rituals has given me.

My heart and soul live here at Rituals and with my family at home. I love coming into work with our amazing team and guests to build lasting relationships. When I am not at Rituals enjoying my day, I am at home with my amazing husband and two beautiful kids: Ellis and Josephine. You can usually find us outside with some sort of musical instrument, singing, making noise, snuggling with our dog and two cats, hiking, and LOTS of arts and crafts.
